Francis Duru is a veteran Nigerian actor, director, producer, scholar, and humanitarian with over three decades of experience in the creative industry. He holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Port Harcourt and a Master’s degree in Development Communication from Nasarawa State University, where he is currently pursuing a PhD.

Renowned for his breakout role in Rattlesnake, Duru has featured in over 200 films and 150 stage productions, earning widespread recognition as one of Nollywood’s foundational figures. Beyond acting, he is a media consultant, events manager, and advocate of artrivism—using the arts as a tool for advocacy and positive change.

A committed husband and father, Duru is passionate about promoting wholesome family values both on and off screen. He brings this commitment into his work with DAFPi to inspire, promote, and preserve positive family values.

Duru’s numerous honors include the United Nations Peace Ambassador title, the Legend of Nollywood Award, and Distinguished Alumnus recognition from the University of Port Harcourt. He is also a minister and youth mentor at Family Worship Centre, where he has served for over two decades.
